Love is strong. One writer said that if you gave all the substance of your house for love, it wouldn't be enough. Love is rock solid. It remains true during the good time and the bad times. Love never fails, never gives up, never gets even, never imagines the worst. Loves always wants our best.
Love is patient and kind and hopeful and helpful. And here is a newsflash: love is not automatic or natural. It is something that is learned, modeled and practiced.
Teach love not by words only, but by actions and reactions. Since sometimes we mess up and don't act in love, ask for forgiveness and work at doing better.
Thankfully we have an opportunity to practice love every day. Did I mention that love has high standards. When I said that love always wants our best, what I was saying is love doesn't settle for mediocracy when better is what we can do. Love encourages us to try again, work harder, do what is right even when we don't feel like it.
Love is making sure we are logged in and ready to learn. It means checking the schedule to see that all assignments are turned in on time. Love means understanding and being compassionate. We can do this. We need each other and when we all do our part, we will be successful and achieve greatness.
