We have faced life on life's terms and it may have been overwhelming at times. And because we are strong and independent, we have attempted to go on with business as usual. We have inner strength and bull dog tenacity and all of that stuff. But do we have the courage to let someone know that we could use their help. Can we articulate clearly that we can do better solving these problems by working together.
We are the caregivers and it is hard for us to to acknowledge that we need others to care about us. We are problem solvers, the creative thinkers, and most of all we are the ones that others go to when they need help and encouragement. Reality check: It takes courage and a certain amount of humility to say out loud that everything is not under control and that we need help.
It doesn't make us any less of a person to admit that we are human We need other humans to care, volunteer, help, and lend their expertise. We may be good at a lot of things, but others are good at some things that we would benefit from.
Reaching out takes courage. What if after I ask for help that help is denied? You already know the answer. Keep seeking, knocking, asking. Your persistence will pay off and the help that you need will eventually come. Take courage. We all win when this happens.
